Job description

  • Develop new and innovative date-based confectionery products.
  • Experiment with flavours, textures, and presentation to create unique offerings.
  • Keep up to date with industry trends and incorporate them into new product ideas.
  • Ensure consistency in taste, texture, and quality across all products.
  • Adjust and refine recipes based on customer feedback and quality control results.
  • Formulate and standardize recipes for date-based confections.
  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures.
  • Conduct regular taste tests and product evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety and hygiene standards.
  • Maintain inventory of ingredients, ensuring freshness and availability.
  • Collaborate with the Procurement department to source ingredients.
  • Monitor stock levels and order supplies as needed.
  • Monitor production costs and work to improve efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Assist in pricing strategies to ensure profitability while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Engage with customers to gather feedback and improve product offerings.
  • Occasionally participate in promotional events, product launches, and tastings, if required.
  • Maintain detailed records of recipes, production processes, and quality control checks.
  • Prepare reports on production efficiency, costs, and quality metrics.
  • Work closely with the other related functional department to align product offerings with market demand and products packaging.
  • Provide culinary expertise and support for promotional campaigns and events, if required.
  • Continuously seek ways to improve product quality and production processes.
  • Stay informed about advancements in culinary techniques and incorporate them as appropriate.
  • Ensure adherence to all health and safety standards and report issues.
  • Carry out any other activities as and when required by the reporting manager.

Qualifications:

  • Education Level – Minimum – Diploma in Cuisine, Cooking or equivalent.

Experience:

  • 0 – 3 years of experience as a chef, preferably in confectionery or a similar field.

Competencies:

  • Expertise in working with dates and creating date-based confections.
  • Strong understanding of culinary techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
  • Good organizational and leadership skills.
  • Creativity and passion for developing new and unique products.
  • Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
