Job description

Role Objective

Quality Control of Flour, Feed and Feed Premixes by sampling, inspections and analysis of raw
materials, in-process and finished products and coordinate in product development.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Inspection and sampling of Wheat, Corn, soybean meal, Bran, barley, etc at seaportupon arrival of cargo ship as per inspection plan and procedures developed by QC team.
  • Monitoring the quality of raw material in silos and stores during the storage period,
  • including control of pests and any degradation in the quality and reporting it to the concerned department for appropriate actions.
  • To develop and implement inspection plan, sampling plan and analysis plan for incoming raw materials, packing materials, in process and finished products.
  • To communicate and report on all conformances as well as non-conformances related to quality of raw material, packing material, in process and finished products.
  • Inspection of flour and feed mill premises as per inspection schedule—daily, weekly and monthly or as and when required by the team/management.
  • Implementation of good manufacturing practices to ensure production of high quality and safe products by the-plant.
  • Perform regular testing of raw materials and finished products in accordance with standard operating procedures. Share results with concern units and address any inconsistencies.
  • To implement Good Laboratory Practices to ensure safety and accuracy in the laboratory.
  • ISO 17025, 22000, 9001, and IMS implementation in coordination with the QC Manager and work as the Technical Coordinator.
  • Raise and investigate NCRs and CCN in coordination with other team members.Coordinate with lab calibration of lab equipment, method validation, and uncertainty measurement of tests as per method validation and uncertainty in coordination with the QC Manager as Technical Coordinator.
  • To keep inventories of all the chemicals, consumablesand equipment’s required for AFT labs in coordination with QC Manager and Lab Head.
  • Coordinate in product development and generate new product ideas.
  • Ensuring that food safety and hygiene standards are met.
  • Monitoring the use of additives in finished products.
  • Ready to work in shifts (afternoon and night shifts).
  • Ready to work on weekend, holidays and over time as and when required.

Education: (Minimum)

Diploma Degree in Food Science with specialization in cereal sciences.

Experience: (Years and nature of experience)

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the quality department of flour and feed mills. Experience in Feed Premixes will be an extra expertise and will be preferred.
  • Experience in food safety and quality systems.

Special Skills and Knowledge

  • Strong flour technology knowledge and background
  • Strong Feed Production knowledge and background.
  • Food safety and food regulation knowledge.
  • Hands-on lab analysis experience in flour and feed.
  • IMS knowledge and training certificate for ISO 22000, 9001, and other related standards.
  • Knowledge on GLP and ISO 17025.
  • Strong communicator and motivator, along with a team.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions necessary in the workplace.
  • Data management and reporting.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Statistical techniques.
