Job description
1. Job Purpose
The main purpose of this position is to assist the Legal with legal matters related to the organization efficiently. Incumbent is also responsible to provide advice and guidance to relevant stakeholders whenever required.
The role will be responsible for drafting, negotiating, structuring, interpreting, executing, and/or administering contractual documents, and aims to mitigate risks through use of expert legal advice
2. Main Tasks & Accountabilities
Task Description
Provide Legal Advice • Assist the Legal Lead in setting internal governance policies and managing the impact of external factors.
• Incumbent to identify business objectives of direct sales / licensing / consulting transactions, related issues, and facilitates risk/benefit analysis.
• Joint in-charge of policies that concern high risk issue for example the Fraud and Corruption Policy.
• Assist legal Lead in driving contract lifecycle from drafting through completion of the negotiation process, and/or contract execution.
• Managing contract change control process and related correspondence requiring legal input.
• Drafting, managing, distributing, responding to, or analyzing RFIs, RFPs, RFQs or customer terms & conditions as needed.
• Interpreting contracts and advise sales / consulting managers on contractual responsibilities.
• Translating complex commercial/legal scenarios into simple language and action plans.
Draft/Vet Legal documents • Drafting and vetting of all legal documents including routine contracts pertaining to property, license, non-disclosure agreements, intellectual property rights, vendor contracts, consultant contracts etc. and co-ordination with the panel of lawyers to ensure documents are legally sound.
• Drafting and vetting of MOA, MOU, Bank guarantee, Indemnity Bonds if any, Undertakings, and authority letters etc.
• Vetting tender documents.
• Preparing contracts for internal review and approval and ensure compliance with company policies as well as applicable laws or regulations.
• Performs all other tasks and activities as assigned.
Health and Safety • Understand and ensure meeting the obligations of health and safety requirements of employment legislation.
• Ensure compliance of all H&S policies, including wearing of helmets and other personal protective equipment by the staff.
Team Building – Planning, acquisition and mentoring • Effective communication within and outside the team.
• Create a supportive environment for the team members.
• Contribute to the team, letting others know information that may be useful or important.
• Help to create a fun, supportive work environment.
People management and reporting responsibilities • Liaison with management and other line managers (as part of cross function team) for efficient running of the department.
• Participate in management and supervisory meetings as and when required.
• Ensure accurate and up to date, daily, weekly, monthly records as required by the management.
• Ensure tasks are understood by the team members and performed responsibly and diligently.
• Help others in the team if needed, Support relief staff in their duties.

Internal All Department Heads and Line Managers.
External Stakeholders, customers, agencies, consultants etc.
4. Person Specification (Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience)
Education Level – Minimum Requirement • Bachelor’s degree in Law
Professional Qualifications
• Company Secretary (CS) preferred.
• Certificate course in Corporate Law.
Work Experience • Overall experience of 6 years or more handling legal departments
• Strong understanding of the Middle East culture.
Job Specific Skills • Experience working on matters of corporate governance and with a board of directors.
• Proven general Leading experience in business environment.
• Overall broad legal knowledge (corporate law, litigations, labor law, etc.)
• In-depth understanding of how legal issues affect organizations.
• Ability to develop legal strategy and objectives.
• Keen understanding of law of the land and international laws applicable for companies.
• Financial awareness to understand and interpret numbers; Excellent written & verbal communication / presentation skills.
• Team player with excellent motivational skills.

5. Position Location
• To be based in Muscat Office and travelling to all depots in Oman whenever required.
