Job description

1.  JOB PURPOSE
Primarily responsible for supervising the sales operations of the sales team. Direct, support and motivate the team in areas of sales, revenue generation and cost control. Coordinate with new and existing clients, external vendors and agents. Work with the team to ensure that sales quotas and additional team goals are consistently met.


2.   MAIN TASKS AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
Task    Description
Sales strategy implementation    •    Implement sales strategies to produce high performance results.
•    Prepare monthly, weekly, or daily sales analysis as instructed by the Area Sales Manager.
Client/Customer Support    •    Interact with customers on a regular basis to ensure satisfaction and gain useful feedback.
•    Resolve customer problems as needed.
•    Answer potential customer questions and follow-up call questions.
•    Build new customer base to maximize sales.
Promotional events    •    Assist in planning special sales promotions, campaigns, displays and events.
Team Building Hiring, Training and Monitoring    •    Recruit and trains new staff.
•    Communicate expectations clearly.
•    Schedule work shifts.
•    Organize regular meetings to empower and motivate team.
•    Maintain an efficient work environment.
•    Undertake steps to maintain discipline.
•    Performs all other tasks and duties as assigned. 
Health and Safety    •    Understand and ensure meeting the obligations of health and safety requirements of employment legislation. 
•    Identify and contain/minimize product related health hazards reported by the consumer(s). 
•    Maintain an event register for supply and subsequent recall of all defective products.

People management and reporting responsibilities    •    Liaison with management and other line managers (as part of cross function team) for efficient running of the department.
•    Participate in management and supervisory meetings as and when required.
•    Produce end of month departmental report, on time, and as required by the management.
•    Ensure accurate and up to date, daily, weekly, monthly records as required by the management. 
•    Ensure tasks are understood by the team members, and performed responsibly and diligently
•    Help others in the team if needed; Support relief staff in their duties.


3.  MAIN CONTACTS AND WORKING RELATIONSHIPS
Internal     All Department Heads and Line Managers.
External    Stakeholders, customers, agencies etc.


4.   PERSON SPECIFICATION (Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience)

Education Level 
(Minimum Requirement)    •    A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics or a related field. Sound knowledge and experience in Microsoft Office Suite
Professional Qualifications
    •    MBA (Sales/Marketing/Business) a plus
Work Experience    •    Minimum 4 years of sales and/or marketing experience.
Job Specific Skills    •    Proven ability to drive the sales process from plan to close. 
•    Good communication, research and information gathering skills.
Generic Skills
    •    Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently.
•    Integrity, discretion, and loyalty.
•    Coaching and people management skills.


5.   POSITION LOCATION

•    To be based in Muscat Office and travelling national and International.
