Job description
- Inspect, maintain, and repair agricultural machinery, including tractors, irrigation systems, harvesters, and processing equipment.
- Perform routine servicing and preventive maintenance on farming equipment to prevent breakdowns.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues and implement effective solutions.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations and industry standards for agricultural equipment.
- Collaborate with farm operators, technicians, and engineers to improve machinery performance.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, maintenance schedules, and parts inventory.
- Assist in installing and upgrading farming systems, such as automated irrigation or greenhouse technology.
- Assist to train farm workers on the proper operation and maintenance of machinery.
- Source and procure replacement parts and tools as needed.
- Stay updated with technological advancements in agricultural machinery and equipment.
- Carry out any other activities as and when required by the reporting manager.
Qualifications
- Education Level – Minimum – Bachelor’s degree in Agricultural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
Experience
- 0 to 3 years of experience.
Competencies
- Proven experience in maintenance and repair of agricultural equipment.
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical systems.
- Ability to diagnose and troubleshoot technical issues effectively.
- Familiarity with computerized diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple tasks.
- Physical stamina and ability to work in outdoor environments.
