Job description


1.  Job Purpose   

This position leads the process for reception of raw milk and juice concentrate and further blending and processing (excluding UHT and Ice-cream products). Prime responsibility to ensure that the raw milk/juice concentrate/powdered milk for reconstitution meets the stipulated requirements and is segregated based on type and composition, and processing /blending is done with utmost care ensuring quality and taste of dairy products and juices

2.   Main Tasks & Accountabilities

Overseeing RM reception dock

  • Ensuring that good quality raw material passes through for processing
  • Conducting visual and olfactory analysis of material to assure that raw material is free from any external matter, abnormal flavors, etc.
  • Milk analysis to determine acidity, ash content, fat and SNF, sugar, salt, urea and other impurities
  • Identifying whether the milk has cloistral and rejecting the lot if found present
  • Ensure input of specified quality passes through for processing

Lead testing and control efforts

  • Implement, and maintain a systematic method of auditing analytical results (split sample testing program)

Ensure excuting of processing plan on the time and maintain availability of products for filling.

TPM supervision and prepare the reports

 

  • Conduct physical and organoleptic evaluations of products and ingredients

 

  • Manage product "Hold and Release" programs for raw milk and incoming juice concentrates; Prevent defective inputs from getting processed

Schedule Management

  • Ensure processing and production as per schedule
  • Successfully meeting production schedules/targets

HACCP/other compliances

  • Design and ensure hygiene standards are maintained through the production process - till the product is collected for delivery from the finished goods warehouse including disposal of waste as per prescribed guidelines
  • Ensure that all local environmental requirements are duly adhered to
  • Knowledge of and adherence to regional council compliance requirements
  • Ensure no breaches of HACCP/ISO/environmental requirements

 

Health and Safety

  • Understand and ensure meeting the obligations of health and safety requirements of employment legislation.
  • Ensure availability of information regarding defective products identified during quality testing at Raw Milk Reception Dock (RMRD)
  • Comply with health and safety requirements of employment legislation
  • Comply with health and safety policies and procedures

6.   Person Specification  (Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience) 

6.1: Education Level –    Minimum Requirement

  • BA/BS in Dairy Science, Food Technology, Microbiology

6.2: Professional      Qualifications
 

 

  • HACCP and ISO 9001/17025/22000 Certification preferred
  • ISO 9001:2015 Quality management systems – Requirements
  • ISO 22000:2005 Food safety management systems – Requirements for any organization in the food chain 
  • SQF Practitioner Certification preferer

6.3: Work Experience

  • Overall experience of 7 years or more with 3-5 years of supervisory experience in dairy and/or beverage manufacturing
  • Experience with cultured products is a huge plus
  • Strong understanding of the Middle East especially Oman

6.4: Job Specific Skills

  • Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
  • Experience with GMP, Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Employment Standards regulatory requirements
  • Ability to deal with operational challenges in a production environment
  • Financial awareness to understand and interpret numbers; Excellent written & verbal communication / presentation skills
  • Team player with excellent motivational skills
