Job description

1.  Job Purpose    
 This position involves in process of New product development, improving existing range of products, improve Process methodology, alternate vendor development, technical support, establish cost saving solutions & continuous improvement tasks. 


2.   Main Tasks & Accountabilities
Task    Description

New product development  

•     Execute the New product development plan against the planned launch 
•    Coordinate with Sales & branding department during product launch 
•    Coordinate with branding for Artwork development follow ups 
•    Acquire the new ingredients from different vendors, evaluate & use in new product formulations 

Packaging & Label development   

 •    Development of New Packaging materials for New and existing products in liais with marketing
•    Follow up procurement of new approved ingredients & packaging materials
•    Work on Nutritional facts and Ingredients to the Art works of New, existing products 
•    Acquiring Products from the market to validate the product profile during Market shelf life 
•    Shelf-life studies of the New, Existing range of products to monitor the Quality & Product integrity

Cost saving   

 •    Establish & work towards Cost saving concepts by re-formulation of Recipes, change of quality Ingredients & optimizing the ingredients usage

Continuous improvement   

 •    Provide technical support for Continuous improvement program with Quality & Production department
 

Product testing  

    •    Quality Analysis of dairy products to study the textural & Sensory changes upon market shelf life
    •    Coordinating with the technical line investigation team to find out the Root cause analysis of Product defects & market complaints
    •    Post acidification studies of all the fermented products, follow up on starter culture activity 
    •    Establish Quality standards & communicate to the Quality, production department with relevant Guide to production formats
    •    Follow up with automation team for recipe addition on TPM, verification of all BOM against the standard recipes
    •    Carry out all the necessary quality checks for new or change of ingredients 
    •    Handling Raw materials complaints & communication with Suppliers to avoid product defects
    •    Testing & utilization of the Raw materials to maintain the uniform product profile depending upon the availability
    •    Monitoring Packaging materials defects & involving suppliers to resolve defective packaging
    •    Revision of the Process methodology on the case of deviations affecting product profile

Training  

 •    Constantly review the adequacy of department subordinates and ensure that they are updated with latest trends on products, competitors, legal provisions and all key aspects of the department. 
•    To train the staff to keep them adequate knowledge & skills to be effective enough to develop successful products for the growth & development of the Organization

Internal     Head of Departments, CPP operations team
External    Stakeholders, customers, agencies etc.


4.   Person Specification (Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience)  


4.1: Education Level –    Minimum Requirement  

 •    Bachelor degree
 

4.2: Professional    Qualifications

 •     Awareness about GSO standards 
•    Awareness about ISO & FSSC standards

 

4.3: Work Experience 

 •    Overall experience of 6 years or more with 3-4 years of Product development experience in food and/or beverage manufacturing
•    Dairy plant lab testing experience preferred
•    Experience in conducting all Quality Control tests on Pre/ Postproduction


4.4: Job Specific Skills

5.   Position Location  
•    This role is to be based in CPP, Mazoon dairy factory, Sunainah.
•    Travel – Domestic and International.
