Job description

1.  Job Purpose    
This position is responsible for processing milk and juice products, making it ready for filling. Prime responsibility is to ensure that process runs smoothly. This position ensures that the plan and execute processing and CIP efficiently with coordination of other team leaders. Ensure CIP, COP and  hygiene such a manner that the products are complying food safety regulation and internal quality standard. The key indicators are machine hygiene and sanitation, Personal hygiene and sanitation in order to achieve the desired best products to the end users( customers).


2.   Main Tasks & Accountabilities
Task    Description   

Mixing  

•    This function is a part of Mixing and processing but needs to be closely aligned with filling team
•    Mix products as per specific requirement governed by specifications from Quality and product development.    •    Process alignment so the interface between the two sections (production and packaging) is seamless


Process 

•    Ensure that all the products are timely processed and available for filling in time. 
•    Coordination with filling team leader and plan for CIP lines, tanks and line availability for different products round the clock
•    Sum up all shifts data and report to the manager. 

•    Planning of the available resources efficiently and   products availability for filling in time.
•    Reduce idle time of process machineries
•    Minimize process losses.

Ingredient managements  

•    Ensure accurate usage of ingredients as per recipe given.
•    Maintain inventories and coordinate with store. 

•    Minimize wastage of ingredients and maintain report.

HACCP/other compliances  

 •    Ensure hygiene standards are maintained through the mixing and processing including disposal of waste as per prescribed guidelines
•    Ensure that all local environmental requirements are duly adhered to
•    Knowledge of and adherence to regional council compliance requirements    •    Ensure no breaches of HACCP/ISO/environmental requirements

Health and Safety 

 •    Understand and ensure meeting the obligations of health and safety requirements of employment legislation. 
•    Identify and contain/minimize product defects like leakages and bloating in packed containers    •    Comply with health and safety requirements of employment legislation
•    Comply with health and safety policies and procedures
•    Document and report all instances of product spoilage/damage

Team Building – Planning, acquisition and mentoring    

•    Effective communication within and outside the team 
•    Create a supportive environment for the team members
•    Contribute to the team, letting others know information that may be useful or important
•    Motivate the team through staff rotation to give the opportunity to explore in different operations with in the plant.

 •    Motivated and competent team to consistently achieve production targets 

People management and reporting responsibilities    


•    Ensure that no H&S related issues in the filling and packing department.
•    Full fill the daily plan achievement (target 98% minimum)
•    Effective utilization of machineries and manpower.
•    Prepare Daily Production Report and capture all production activities including Machine breakdown, quality issues etc and report to the management on time.
•    Produce end of month departmental report, on time, and as required by the management.
•    Ensure accurate and up to date, daily, weekly, monthly records as required by the management. 
•    Ensure tasks are understood by the team members, and performed responsibly and diligently
•    Help others in the team if needed; Support relief staff in their duties

 •    Effective coordination across functions to achieve targets
 

3.   Person Specification  (Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience)  


3.1: Education Level –    Minimum Requirement  

 B.Degree in Dairy Technology / Food Technology

3.2: Professional    Qualifications


•    Post graduate in dairy or food will be an added advantage
•    Knowledge of quality systems
 

3.3: Work Experience

•    Overall minimum experience of 8 years or more in supervising processing and filling of dairy and food products. 
•    Lean management
•    Strong understanding of the Middle East especially Oman


3.4: Job Specific Skills

•    Should be able to plan the production including mixing processing and filling.
•    Should be able to trace out problems in the products/ and find solution
