1.  Job Purpose   

This position is responsible for ensuring bottle blow molding, filling and sealing for PET, HDPE, Caps,  and Crates/Pallets wash is carried out properly with bagging and labeling done appropriately. The implications of damaged/leaking or substandard quality containers or incorrect labeling is huge and could invite penal proceedings and penalties against the company

2.   Main Tasks & Accountabilities

Task

Description

Manage following up overall blow molding, Crate/Pallet washing and bagging process

• Plan the entire process including segregating the products into PET, HDPE, Injected cap, and the quantities of each type of packaging.
• Estimate the material requirement for blow molding or injection molding the containers for packaging the targeted produce 
• Manage all areas of packaging including blow molding / injection molding, and bagging to ensure a seamless process
• Manage all activities related to crate/pallet washing and bottles silos/conveyors

PET / HDPE Blow Molding

• Ensure that blow molding of containers is done as per prescribed quality standards
• Ensure a mechanism for testing the quality of bottle before filling the product 

Injection molding

• Ensure that Injection molding of caps is done as per prescribed quality standards
• Ensure a mechanism for testing the quality of capping before filling the product 

Evaluate improvements in Packaging

• All changes (including small and seemingly inconsequential) in the design or specifications of packaging should be assessed by technical, quality and production staff no matter how small.

Filling

• This function is a part of production process but needs to be closely aligned with blow molding

Sealing/capping

• Ensuring that the cap threads are aligned with those of the body of the container to prevent leakage and consequent spoilage of product
• Monitor capping performance during production runs and adjusting equipment where necessary
• Torque adjustment to ensure proper seal

Staffing

• staffing plan to meet scheduled production
• Ensure an optimized work force in terms of quantity and quality

HACCP/other compliances

• Design and ensure hygiene standards are maintained through the packaging process
• Ensure that all local environmental requirements are duly adhered to
• Knowledge of and adherence to regional council compliance requirements

Health and Safety

• Understand and ensure meeting the obligations of health and safety requirements of employment legislation.
• Identify and contain/minimize product packaging related health hazards reported by the consumer(s)
• Ensure availability of information regarding defective packaging for products identified during quality testing or reported by the consumer

4.   Person Specification (Qualifications, Knowledge & Experience) 

4.1: Education Level –    Minimum Requirement

• BTech/Engineering degree

4.2: Professional      Qualifications
 

• Advanced Diploma in Plastics Processing Technology or equivalent

4.3: Work Experience

• Overall experience of 8 years or more in Injection and Blow Molding or Starch Blow molding (PET, HDPE, PP, PVC processing)
• Experience in packaging of dairy products will be preferred
• Strong understanding of the Middle East especially Oman

4.4: Job Specific Skills

• Familiar with blow and injection molding equipment technology, plastics processing, and equipment and process trouble shooting.
• Familiar with auxiliaries such as chillers, compressors, material handling equipment and conveyer systems
• Expertise in PET/HDPE/IML preform manufacturing, bottle blowing and Juice/Dairy product fill & aseptic closures with Husky (32,48 cavity HYpet 120.225.300 & GL-300) SIDEL, Chen Pet, ASB Nisei, CMP Machine
• Expertise in Bottles Fillers, Tetra Flex Process aseptic, APV tube Processing, APV Juice, PMO pasteurizers, CIP systems is a plus
• Ability to work in adverse weather conditions
• Intimate knowledge of production and packaging management
• Experience with GMP, Quality, Environmental, Safety, and Employment Standards regulatory requirements
• Established credentials in production planning and ability to deal with operational challenges in a production environment
• Financial awareness to understand and interpret numbers; Excellent written & verbal communication / presentation skills
• Team player with excellent motivational skills
