Job description

Job Purpose:

This position is responsible for ensuring, planning, evaluating, and observing quality and safety of the products, RM, PM, in process, semi-final and final products,  that in order to reach high-quality product.

Main Tasks & Accountabilities:

General Responsibilities 

  • Follow up and check the GHP of CPP, Farm, sales and logistic vehicles, depots, outsource warehouses.
  • Follow up and check the environmental conditions and cold chain records in CPP, Farm, sales and logistic vehicles, depots, outsource warehouses.
  • Ensure that the quality of the products is not affected during storage and transportation and inspect the affected products during the transportation and storage.
  • Following up on the obstacles facing the MDC Departments in product safety and quality and developing initial and future solutions to them.
  • Ensure that the " first-expired, first-out / first-in, first-out" system is practiced.
  • Record keeping/Reporting: Maintain accurate and legible records.
  • Complete customer regulatory and internal reports on a timely basis.
  • Communication: Record information forwarded to or collected by quality assurance and report to the appropriate plant personnel in a professional and timely manner
  • Sanitation Analysis: Collect and analyze environmental and sanitation related samples for compliance with company standard operating procedures. Record and report data
  • Lab activities, check chemical, physical, and microbiological parameters.
  • Follow up the progress of the plan prepared for pest control activities
  • Create a knowledge awareness for company employees of the importance of quality certificates and their relationship to product quality
  • Establishing an annual evaluation plan for the departments concerned with the food safety system (ISO) in the company.
  • Identifying all departments' deficiency points and setting a time plan for their completion.
  • Market study about the products availability and identity the market requirements.
  • Establishing a mechanism for establishing and operating laboratories
  • The application of laws, regulations and systems related to occupational health and safety.

Label approvals

  • Get the content and nutrition fact information from product development.
  • Implement them in the design which create by branding.
  • Send sample from the product to the lab for chemical, physical & microbiological analysis and get the report.
  • Check if all information in the artwork meets GSO standard.
  • Send the artwork to the ministry for their approval.
  • Then, send the artwork to the supplier in order to create the package.

Maintaining Reports

  • Maintains a filing system and protects confidential customer information.
  • Insert customer and account data by inputting text based and numerical information from source documents within time limits
  • Compile, verify accuracy and sort information according to priorities to prepare source data for computer entry
  • Maintain separate reports along with production process, stating with row ingredients report, lab testing unfinished products and final product analysis.

Analyzing data

  • Performs high-volume data entry using word processing, spreadsheet, database, or other computer software.
  • Reviews data for errors, missing pages, or missing
  • Responds to requests to retrieve data from the database or electronic filing system.
  • information and resolves any discrepancies.
  • Performs regular backups to ensure data preservation.
  • Uses basic office equipment (photocopy machine, facsimile machine, etc.)
  • Maintains a satisfactory level of quality and productivity per department standards.
  • Review data for deficiencies or errors, correct any incompatibilities if possible and check output
  • Apply data program techniques and procedures and analyzing the same

Preparing Reports

  • Prepare, compile, and sort documents for data entry.
  • Verifies and logs receipt of data.
  • Transcribes source data into the required electronic format.
  • Transfers information from paper formats into computer files using
  • Research and obtain further information for incomplete documents
  • keyboards, data recorders, or optical scanners.
  • Performs high-volume data entry using word processing, spreadsheet, database, or other computer software.
  • Respond to queries for information and access relevant files

Additional Tasks

  • Completes additional assigned tasks as required.
  • Ensure proper use of office equipment and address any malfunctions
  • Keep data up to date by corporate with QC/QA team

Main Contacts and Working Relationships

  • Internal: All Department Heads and Line Managers.
  • External: Stakeholders, customers, agencies etc.

Education Level –    Minimum Requirement

High Diploma , Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Food Science or related field preferred

Professional   Qualifications

  • Professional certificate in quality is preferred
  • Valid driver’s license

Work Experience

  • Experience of 3 years in a similar position; Experience in dairy plant preferred
  • Knowledge of chemistry/microbiology
  • Familiarity with all applicable equipment and perform quality inspections on all related items
  • Familiarity with and working knowledge of documentation required for quality testing and control procedures
  • Being able to resolve technical issues

Position Location 

To be based in Muscat and travelling to all depots in Oman
