Job description

JOB PURPOSE:

The Corporate Communications Advisor is responsible for establishing and enabling Oman Food Capital’s Corporate Communications section during a 1-year fixed-term contract. The role will provide senior advisory and hands-on leadership to design the communications operating model, define governance, develop and launch the corporate brand, and build the policies, procedures, tools, templates, and channels required for a sustainable communications function.

The role will lead the development and implementation of internal and external communication practices, support the launch and management of the company Brand, strengthen stakeholder-facing messaging, establish knowledge-sharing mechanisms, and transfer capability to internal employees so the section can operate effectively after the contract period .

Key Accountabilites:

 

Corporate Communications Section Set-Up : 

  • Design the Corporate Communications section mandate, scope of services, operating model, RACI, workflows, service standards, and annual communication calendar.
  • Develop the required communication governance structure, approval matrix, document templates, trackers, and reporting tools.
  • Advise management on the structure, roles, resourcing requirements, and outsourced support needed for a sustainable communications function.
  • Establish a practical handover and capability-transfer plan to ensure continuity after the 1-year contract.

Brand Development and Brand Launch:

  • Lead the development, refinement, and implementation of Oman Food Capital’s corporate brand identity, positioning, narrative, visual standards, tone of voice, and key messages.
  • Develop and issue brand guidelines, templates, presentation standards, signage/visibility principles, and usage controls across internal and external channels.
  • Plan and execute the corporate brand launch, including internal awareness, external announcements, launch materials, media content, and stakeholder messaging.
  • Monitor brand application and correct inconsistencies to protect corporate reputation and visual identity.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 

  Communication Policies, Procedures, and Governance :

  • Develop and implement communication policies, procedures, protocols, and guidelines covering internal communication, external communication, media relations, social media, website content, brand usage, event communication, crisis communication, approvals, archiving, and spokesperson protocols.
  • Create standard templates for press releases, announcements, leadership messages, speeches, FAQs, briefing notes, campaign plans, content calendars, and post-activity reports.
  • Ensure communication activities comply with internal governance, legal requirements, brand standards, and approved stakeholder communication protocols.
  • Deliver awareness sessions to internal stakeholders on the new communication governance framework 

Internal Communication and Knowledge Sharing:

  • Design and implement internal communication channels and routines to improve employee awareness of strategy, milestones, changes, events, and leadership messages.
  • Develop a knowledge-sharing approach, including intranet/SharePoint content structure where applicable, newsletters, content repositories, employee updates, knowledge articles, and management briefings.
  • Support leaders and departments in preparing clear, timely, and consistent employee communication materials.
  • Establish feedback and measurement mechanisms to assess internal communication effectiveness.

 

External Communication, Media Relations, and Stakeholder Messaging:

  • Develop external communication strategies and plans to strengthen Oman Food Capital’s public profile, credibility, and stakeholder confidence.
  • Draft and review press releases, media statements, speeches, talking points, profiles, fact sheets, corporate announcements, and external communication materials.
  • Build and manage relationships with media outlets, journalists, creative agencies, event organizers, and relevant external stakeholders.
  • Ensure external communication is aligned with approved corporate priorities, brand positioning, and reputation requirements.

Website and internal portal Launch and Digital Presence:

  • Lead the website launch process in coordination with internal stakeholders and service providers, including sitemap, content architecture, copywriting, approvals, quality checks, accessibility, launch readiness, and post-launch maintenance process.
  • Develop and maintain website content standards, update protocols, ownership matrix, and website content calendar.
  • Oversee social media and digital communication content to ensure consistency with brand, tone, message, and audience requirements.
  • Use website and digital analytics to recommend improvements to reach, engagement, content quality, and user experience.

Campaigns, Events, Sponsorships, and Creative Content:

  • Plan, coordinate, and evaluate corporate campaigns, events, exhibitions, conferences, sponsorship visibility, and promotional activities aligned with business priorities.
  • Oversee the development of creative assets, corporate presentations, graphics, videos, branded materials, and campaign content through internal or outsourced resources.
  • Manage vendors and agencies to ensure timely, cost-effective, and quality delivery of communication outputs.
  • Prepare post-event and post-campaign evaluations with lessons learned and recommendations.

Reporting, Performance Monitoring, and Handover : 

  • Prepare monthly performance reports covering branding, internal communication, external communication, website, digital channels, campaigns, media coverage, policy implementation, and KPI progress.
  • Maintain communication dashboards, action logs, policy trackers, content calendars, and brand implementation trackers.
  • Deliver a final handover pack at the end of the contract, including all approved policies, procedures, templates, guidelines, calendars, vendor information, performance reports, and recommendations for the next phase.
  • Perform any other related responsibilities assigned by management.

    Experience :

  • Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in corporate communications, media relations, strategic communications, brand management, digital communication, or related fields.
  • Demonstrated experience in establishing or transforming a communications function, including policies, procedures, governance, templates, communication calendars, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Proven experience in brand development and brand launch, including corporate narrative, visual identity, guidelines, and multi-channel roll-out.
  • Experience leading website launch or major website redevelopment projects, including content development, approvals, launch readiness, and post-launch governance.
  • Experience developing internal and external communication strategies, crisis communication protocols, media materials, leadership messaging, campaigns, and stakeholder communication plans.
  • Experience working in corporate, government-related, holding-company, investment, food, agriculture, fisheries, or high-profile organizational environments is preferred.
